Safe and Sound

After 24-hours of travel via plane and automobile, Richard arrived safely in Ruse this evening. He is settled into his hotel and hopefully resting peacefully in preparation for an exciting day tomorrow.

Although he has the opportunity to sleep in a little tomorrow morning, he has already informed me that he plans to rise early and explore his surroundings. If he knows what's good for him he will take lots of pictures and provide vivid descriptions for those of us who must live vicariously through him!

At 10:30 tomorrow morning, he will meet with the social worker and be introduced to this sweet boy for the first time!

Prior to his departure for Bulgaria, we finally had the opportunity to sit down and discuss names for the boys. I will wait to announce the names that we have chosen for our older boys until Richard meets with them next week (because they are older, we would like to give them the opportunity to choose between several names and to decide whether they prefer to be called by their new names or their birth names), but from this time forward, this sweet little man will be known as Gabriel (Gabe).

Like the rest of you, I will be waiting on pins and needles to hear all about Richard's first meeting with Gabe and his adventures in Ruse! Please keep both of my boys in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow as these first meetings can be a little overwhelming for all parties involved. As always, we appreciate your encouragement, love and support!
